For people living on the outer edges of the Chambal Valley(UP), this dinky little train that runs from Gwalior to Sheopur, is a lifeline. No wonder it is patronized so well.and it’s the only way to enjoy the journey across the vast scraggy Chambal ravines. The Scindia Kings built this line as a hobby, but it turned out to a lifeline for the people living in these parts.

Starting from Gwalior, the line makes its way across the Chambal Valley and National Park to the town of Sheopur, near the border with Rajasthan.

Several reports published this month have revealed that most of India has received below-average rainfall so far,.. and if this trend continues for a few more days, several regions will be concluded drought affected!
